Finding my way

Unfortunately , lately I lack the time and inspiration to paint as often as I like to.

Here an attempt of a pointillistic painting which was a assignment from my painting teacher and an east indian ink sketch.

Something old and something new

I've been away for a while. Busy with other things. These paintings were made at the painting course I follow.

Dintelse Gorzen

Today, we have been to the "Dintelse Gorzen". If you think: "Dintelse Gorzen"? here's a map of the place.

As a experiment I painted with oil on a underpainting of acrylics. Maybe I will tweak it a little to get more contrast.

We've been on a short break. A few day in "De Peel". Here a painting of a small stream.

My first etching

Yesterday I ended a "two evening etching workshop". It was my first experience with etching. And man, what a very addictive activity this is! Here are some results of the prints I made. I certainly want to do more... and more, and more. So Mirian, if you are reading this...

"Vitrine project"

Great news. I'm taking part of the "vitrine project". My work will be exhibited in a showcase in several public buildings on Goeree-Overflakkee. Each month, the contents of the showcase will be moved to another location.

De Slikken

The "slikken van Flakkee" is a piece of nature on the Dutch isle of Goeree-Overflakkee. It is a wetland where "heckrunderen" (some kind of wild oxes) walk around. So you'll understand why I didn't do a plein-air (cheap excuses, I know).

When you look closely you'll notice I added grass to my painting again.

Sandy path (update)

I'm still not entirely satisfied with the path, but I could not resist to hang the painting.

Sandy path (WIP)

A painting I'm working on. Quite larger than I'm used to (70x90 cm), but a very rewarding size to work with.

My Crib

A drawing/sketch of our house. Done with a "microschrijver".

A small piece (20x20 cm). Acryl on canvas. I reused an existing painting that I didn't like. The surface is a bit granular, because with the first painting I added sand to my paint, which gives a nice effect.
